Biography

Melody has always respected the medical profession and felt drawn to serve in some related field. As a gifted musician, music therapy and music education are a perfect fit for her. She was drawn to The Music Place because of the dual emphasis of both music education and care for those with special needs.

Melody is a board certified music therapist and holds a Master's degree in Music Therapy from Colorado State University (with a certification in Neurological Music Therapy: NMT). In addition, she graduated first in her class to receive her undergraduate B.A. degree in Music Performance from Xi'an Conservatory of Music in China.

Teaching Style

Melody is fun, friendly and detail-oriented and loves using music to inspire, help and educate kids of all ages. She approaches her students with patience, cheerfulness, and creativity. As a therapist, she is clinically astute and is able to easily recognize the issues and identify appropriate goals for her students and client.
