Jeremy found his passion for music while in high school, and starting off at Cal Poly as a math major, soon followed his heart to major in music at Moorpark College in Southern California. Transferring to the renown San Jose State University Music Department in Fall of 2016, his combined majors of Vocal Performance and Music Education added to his skills on a variety of other instruments make his well-equipped to not only teach voice, but also guitar, EMA and beginning piano.

Jeremy was was referred to The Music Place by another faculty member after helping her in a music director’s position at the Sunnyvale theater. He has studied voice with several different coaches including Marilyn Anderson and Dr. Jeffrey Benson at San Jose State University. While interviewing at The Music Place, the directors and mentor teachers consistently remarked about Jeremy’s high level of enthusiasm and how it is wonderfully balanced with thoughtful insights in the ways he helps his students along. His energy and outgoing personality have also made him a perfect fit to teach the Early Music Awareness curriculum where he serves as an inspiring and wholesome role model for even the youngest kids.

In addition to music and teaching, Jeremy also enjoys directing musicals and choral groups as well as performing a wide range of musical styles musical theater, contemporary, classical, sacred and operatic. Passionate about all things musical, he recently reduced his works hours at a local restaurant to spend more time teaching at The Music Place.

Teaching Style

Jeremy helps his student learn by being good-humored, thorough, and building great foundations while using creative approaches to encourage and challenge the most challenging students. He models and inspires students by his own passion for all things musical.
